What was the challenge?

Systematic A/S was supposed to fill a full-time position with an infrastructure architect. The company had tried to fill the position without success, and other external suppliers had not been able to find the right profile either. Systematic A/S was looking for a very special profile; Systematic had previously had good experiences with Epico-IT, both in terms of permanent employment and freelance consultants, and as the IT profile they were looking for could be difficult to staff, Systematic chose to go with a freelance IT consultant until they found the right one for the full-time position:

"We knew that it was a difficult position to recruit for, and therefore it was valuable to us that we could get a freelance consultant from Epico to fill that role for a shorter period of time, until we found the right candidate for a permanent position in collaboration with Epico," says Gitte Mønsted Hansen, Senior Manager, People Attraction by Systematic.

How did the collaboration go?

Systematic was part of what Thomas Jesper Hansen, Director of Systematic, describes as a classic process with Epico, where Epico presented 2-3 candidates, all of whom "hit the mark", as Thomas Jesper Hansen puts it, after which Systematic chose the profile that was the best match. At the same time, Gitte Mønsted Hansen says that Systematic and Epico have gradually built up such a good collaboration that Systematic sees Epico more as a partner than an external supplier: "We have a lot of confidence in Epico, and even though Epico is a supplier for us, we also see them as a partner who fully understands our company and what we need" - Thomas Jesper Hansen adds: "Epico's employees are able to understand what we need at Systematic, which means that they can find the right candidate for our specific needs." At the same time, Systematic has been very pleased with the collaboration with Epico, not least because Epico has helped Systematic find the right profiles, but because Epico's employees have been good at listening to the feedback that Systematic has provided: "There have also been episodes where we may have gone a little past each other; Epico has been good at finding a solution that we could both be satisfied with, and that Epico's employees also took constructive feedback to heart and adapted accordingly," says Gitte Mønsted Hansen.

How has the collaboration with Epico created value?

Systematic was able to re-establish the capacity they lacked, and it is especially Epico's network, as well as the knowledge and understanding of Epico's employees, that help to create a valuable collaboration between Systematic and Epico.

"We saw a value in working with Epico as they have the necessary expertise and a unique network that we could benefit from, so that we could instead focus our efforts on what we do best," adds Gitte Mønsted Hansen.
