Location: Nordjylland
Start: April
Period: 3 months, opp. for extention

Our customer is currently building an inspection/sorting machine prototype at our mechanical partner’s site in Nykøbing Mors. This machine needs to be tested and tweaked both with regards to the mechanics and the digital modules. With the digital team sitting in Copenhagen, we need someone to help us with the tasks that require being close to the machine.

The external consultant will help with execution of tests, ML model training, fine-tuning, tracking of results and testing in collaboration with the remote team members.

They will be the main point of contact on-site, making sure our remote digital team and the local mechanical team stay aligned and work well together.

The ideal candidate is not an expert profile but rather a self-driven and curious person with a good overview, reasonable technical knowledge, and good people skills, who can help “glue” everything together, given the geographical challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Onsite presence when needed (min. 3 days/week) in Nykøbing Mors for meetings, tests or making changes. Help identify potential software/hardware issues and coordinate necessary improvements with the team. Work independently on smaller problems
  • Efficiently execute, document and report on experiments/tests, issues and solutions and analyse results with the team with the necessary attention to detail
  • Act as “local project manager” to interface between local partner and the remote digital team

Must have skills:

  • Programming knowledge (Python) and version control tools (Git)
  • Basic knowledge of industrial machines (sensors, actuators, and automation systems)
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for hardware/software issues and providing technical support for on-site equipment. Can operate a screwdriver if necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills to act as a bridge between on-site technicians and remote developers (in English and Danish)
  • Curiosity for learning and passion for helping others
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a remote team

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of Machine Learning workflows
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks in experimental workflows and suggest improvements
  • Ability to interpret accuracy results from algorithms and ML models and suggest improvements
  • Experience with building industrial machines, in particular machine vision systems
